LL Cool J is undeniably one of the most important figures in hip-hop. That being said, it’s OK to admit being a little nervous prior to my interview with the Greatest of All Time. What was pleasant was how easy Uncle L was to talk to and how knowledgeable he was about his career — not that most celebrities wouldn’t be, but true fans and nerds often catch inconsistencies when artists talk about their catalogs. Not LL. It was also surprising that the man who’s been in the game for 24 years is still as excited as when he dropped singles like “I Need a Beat” and “I Can’t Live Without My Radio.” Check out the article “Doin’ It Well” in 944 magazine’s August edition — hitting the streets this week in Phoenix, Miami, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Orange County and Los Angeles — and read LL’s full interview, “The Greatest of All Time,” here on That’s My Jam over the next few days.
