What's Your Jam?

Meet Felicia P. from Phoenix

Who are your three favorite artists?
Right now I’m obsessed with Chrisette Michele, Jill Scott and Carmen Rodgers.

What is your favorite song?
Bill Evans – “Blue In Green.” The tone of this song is how I feel inside most of the time — still yet moving, melancholy and hopeful. This song always puts me in a pensive mood.

What is your favorite album?
Right now? I can listen to Ledisi’s latest album, Lost & Found, all day everyday.

What is your favorite music video?
Creatively, “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy, “Virtual Insanity” by Jamiroquai and “Jeremy” by Pearl Jam.

What was your first record, tape or CD?
First record: Queen: “Another One Bites the Dust”; First Tape: TLC: Ooooooohhh … On the TLC Tip; First CD: Vanilla Ice: To The Extreme (I’m so embarrassed right now).

What was your first concert?
Boyz II Men and Hammer.

What’s your favorite music time period or genre?
I’m heavy into electronica right now. Télépopmusik, Esthero, Zero 7, Daft Punk …

Old-school or today’s music?
Old-school all the way.

Why?
Today’s music bites off old-school. Plus, although the technology may not have been as advanced back in the day, at least artists had strong, powerful voices that resonated through concert halls before the dawn of lip-synching and a celebrity image/package.
