The wait is over. Oscar winner and American Idol alumna Jennifer Hudson will release her debut album in September, with guest appearances and contributions from the likes of Timbaland, Robin Thicke, Diane Warren, etc. Ne-Yo penned the set’s debut single, “Spotlight,” which is set to hit radio stations next week.

Can’t wait until September? Well, in July Miley Cyrus will release Breakout, the teen queen’s first foray into non-Hannah Montana music. The first single, “7 Things,” recently hit radio and is quickly becoming one of the most added songs. Also putting out an album is five-time BET Award nominee T-Pain. His September release is called Thr33 Ringz with the lead single, “Snap Yo Fingers,” expected to hit radio next month. The song features a guest appearance by rapper Lil Wayne.

The recently reunited The Time is will be holding court at the Flamingo Las Vegas from June 24 to August 2. The shows will feature original members Morris Day, Jerome Benton, Jellybean Johnson, Jimmy “Jam” Harris, Terry Lewis, Monte Moir and Jesse Johnson. (That’s My Jam will demand a refund from the performance if Jerome doesn’t hold up the mirror for Morris.) And Jam and Lewis protégé Janet Jackson has confirmed her own tour, with tickets to go on sell on June 7. It was reported last week that Jackson would hit the road with Madonna, but Jackson’s full tour itinerary and her partnership with Madonna have yet to be released and confirmed, respectively.

David Cook will soon be hitting the road, too, as he was crowned the seventh American Idol on Wednesday, beating out David Archuleta by nearly 16 percentage points (coincidentally, the same margin predicted by That’s My Jam’s readers). Finally, say bye, bye, bye to Lou Pearlman. The impresario responsible for creating the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his alleged role in swindling millions from retirees since the 1980s. After losing both groups and O-Town because their money was being messed with, is anyone really surprised by this news?
